Exaggeration

Timmy : Mum, I just saw a dog on the road and it was as big as a lion!!

Timmy's Mum : TIMMY! Haven't I told you hundreds of millions of times not to over-exaggerate things?

    i don't know sach. i just gave it a second thought & am afraid i still don't get it. sorry if i seem daft ! ? Please explain...if possible... ( is the joke... 'over exagerate' ? I mean the reiteration of the word 'exagerate' ?...sorry...thats my best take... :p

    Okay, it's simple really, you don't need to over think. Timmy says he saw a dog as big as a lion which obviously is an exaggeration. But his mum says to Timmy to not exaggerate (or over-exaggerate; whatever) things by using a phrase which is much more exaggerated than what Timmy said; you can't possibly have said something to your kid 100 million times could you?

    Hence the irony. And the joke.

    Yeah, we have been doing OK. After a bad loss for Trinity last week, we bounced back today to score a hard-fought 22-17 win over Joes. Their last win against us was in '99, so they are yet to beat is in this millennium!

    Haha, was just kidding mate. We do suck this time around, no doubt about it.

    I think Royal are very formidable this year too. I so miss the rugby season to be honest; was a fan since I can remember.
